HATC Update

The Province of MB has announced the Homeowners Affordability Tax Credit (HATC) will increase to a maximum of $1,600 for the 2026 tax year.

Eligible homeowners who received the HATC in 2025 will automatically be rolled over to the 2026 program and do not need to re-submit their self declaration form if there was no ownership change.

New property owners will have to declare their principal residence with the municipality BEFORE April 30, 2026, in order to have the HATC as an advance applied directly to the property tax statement.
Eligible property owners who do not receive the HATC on their tax bill can claim the credit on their income tax return.

For more information on applying for the credit, please contact our office at general@rmofsteanne.com, or view the application form here: HATC Self Declaration Form
