Emergency Coordination Volunteers

In the event of a disaster that would require evacuation of residents, these volunteers would be the ones to operate coordinate and operate our Reception Centre and/or the Emergency Operations Centre. Fire Department Volunteers

The Richer Fire Department operates through a volunteer program. As a firefighter with the Rural Municipality of Ste. Anne's Richer Fire Department, you would be participating in several areas of Fire Department operations: fire suppression, fire prevention, and public education and awareness. Those interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter must complete an application form. Completed forms can be sent to richerchief@rmofsteanne.com.

Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) Volunteers

The RM of Ste. Anne's Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) is volunteer-led and supported by Manitoba COPP. This is a great opportunity to get involved in crime prevention, community awareness, and safety patrols right here in our municipality.

If you’ve ever thought about making a difference in your neighbourhood, now is the time!

What's involved?

  • Patrol the community (on foot, bike, or by vehicle).
  • Identify and report suspicious or concerning behaviour.
  • Notify local law enforcement of emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Keep proper notes and maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow COPP policies, procedures, and present a positive presence in the community.

If you are interested in participating, and becoming a volunteer, please reach out to rmofsteannecopp@gmail.com for more information.

Recreation and Community

Heartfelt Lunches

Heartfelt Lunch is a monthly program designed to provide seniors with low-cost nutritious meals and opportunities for social connection. This initiative started with 5 local organizations coming together to give the community a safe space to gather and has turned into a monthly event for any and all seniors to attend!

In order to continue this initiative and make the most of the funding we receive for it, we need volunteers to operate the preparation and organization of the event. We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to help prepare and cook the lunches. Your role would be on the 4th Tuesday and the 4th Wednesday of each month. On Tuesdays you would be supporting the preparation of the sandwich fillings and soup, and on Wednesday you would be supporting the assembly of sandwiches, heating the soups and setting up the hall.

If you're interested in joining the Heartfelt Lunch team, contact Samantha by calling our office or emailing pwrec@rmofsteanne.com.
